In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, the Diocese of Orange has launched the Serve + Hope Helpline.

The helpline supports all those in need of food, especially the elderly, home-bound, and pregnant women. This is what it means to be Church. This is a response to answer the call of Pope Francis to be missionary disciples.  Description of Services

Those in need of food can call the hotline at (844) 279-0105 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

A Catholic community of volunteers will be ready to help with essential needs. They will connect callers with local resources for food. The services that will be provided include: groceries to homes and provision of food and other necessities from local food pantries to those that might not be able to afford it at this time.

To meet increased needs from the diverse communities served in the Diocese of Orange, Serve+Hope is providing those looking to help others during the pandemic with the following volunteer opportunities:

  • Volunteer to answer calls on the helpline. Training will be provided. Can be done from your own home.
  • Volunteer to deliver food to the homebound. Must be under 60 years of age, have a current drivers’ license, auto insurance and use of a vehicle.
  • Volunteer to package food at local pantry and a parish-based food pantry.
